Las relaciones entre arte y poder a lo largo de la historia han resultado, cuando menos, tortuosas, por ser una de las funciones del arte la de criticar y modernizar la sociedad en la que surge. En aquellos casos en los que los artistas y el poder han gozado de una tranquila y buena vecindad, podemos afirmar sin riesgo a equivocarnos que la actividad de los prim- eros m\u00e1s que de arte, debe ser calificada como propaganda.
\nPor tanto, cien a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de que Marcel Duchamp reflexionase sobre esa actividad humana plante\u00e1ndose la cuesti\u00f3n que encabeza este texto, tal vez resulte m\u00e1s adecuado preguntarnos \u201c\u00bfes posible un arte que no sea subversivo?\u201d.
\nLa historia nos demuestra que ser artista es, necesariamente, jugarse la integridad en cada nueva propuesta. Por favor, abst\u00e9nganse los que no est\u00e9n dispuestos: el arte pre- cisa de h\u00e9roes, no de colaboracionistas. <\/p>\n

Sobre WEART <\/p>\n

La segunda edici\u00f3n de WeArt Festival Barcelona, un festival de arte multidisciplinar e independiente, que se celebra una vez al a\u00f1o en Barcelona para dar apoyo y servir como plataforma de difusi\u00f3n para los artistas, as\u00ed como los espacios que promueven la cultura.Durante el Festival se presentar\u00e1n exposiciones de cinco disciplinas art\u00edsticas: Artes pl\u00e1s- ticas, New Media Art, Ilustraci\u00f3n, Street Art y Fotograf\u00eda, en cinco espacios y cinco d\u00edas diferentes. Cada disciplina se presentar\u00e1 en un espacio diferente de la ciudad, creando as\u00ed un recorrido creativo y alternativo por Barcelona. Ser\u00e1n un total de cinco inaugu- raciones en diferentes d\u00edas, junto con otras actividades paralelas, que enriquecer\u00e1n el panorama del arte y su relaci\u00f3n con el entorno.
\nWeArt Festival se celebrar\u00e1 durante los meses de octubre y noviembre del 2013. Cada a\u00f1o el festival propone un concepto diferente, sobre el cual girar\u00e1n las cinco disciplinas art\u00edsticas. Este a\u00f1o el tema es SUBVERSI\u00d3N. <\/p>\n

The relationship between art and power throughout history might be considered at least as tortuous. One of the functions of art is to be critical and to modernize the society in which it emerges. In those cases in which the artists and the mainstream enjoyed quiet and good cohabitation, we might say (with the risk of being wrong) that the first activity could be described as propaganda rather than as art.
\nTherefore, one hundred years after Marcel Duchamp reflected on this human activity by raising the question that heads this article, perhaps it is appropriate to ask ourselves: \u201cIs it possible for art to not be subversive?\u201d.
\nHistory shows that being an artist necessarily implies risking one\u2019s personal well-being with each new suggestion. Please abstain if you\u2019re unwilling to face this: art needs heroes, not collaborators.<\/p>\n

About WEART <\/p>\n

The second edition of weart festival barcelona; the independent, multidisciplinary art festival which is held once a year in barcelona to support and serve as a platform for artists and venues that promote culture.During the Festival there will be five exhibitions of different artistic disciplines: Visual Arts, New Media Art, Illustration, Street Art and Photography, spread over five spaces and five separate days. Each discipline is presented in a different area of the city, creating a creative and alternative path around Barcelona. There will also be other parallel activities that enrich the landscape of art and its relationship with the environment.
