Somos mas bellos si somos simétricos? o simplemente somos perfectos?

Bio

Pablo Danelutto (Chaco, Argentina – 1970)

Comparisons are odious…but here, they are necessary and involuntary.

The goal of Two Sides Project is to study the symmetry of the faces through the proportions of facial features.

It is a theory which utilizes symmetry as a tool to measure beauty.

Are we more beautiful if we are symmetrical? Or simply perfect?

We perceive beauty through the perfection of the faces and the alignment of the face on both sides. If both sides are symmetrical, even if the person is not “beautiful”, we perceive it as perfect.

Using our imagination and sharpening our sight, we can make both sides of the face meet and see the original person.

To be judged by the beholder.

Bio

Pablo Danelutto (Chaco, Argentina – 1970)

Graduated with a Degree in Visual Communications and Graphic Design

Masters Degree in Packaging Design (ORT Association, BuenosAires)

Artistically formed in Buenos Aires, Pablo moved to Barcelona, Spain in 2000, continuing with his professional career in design agencies, up to date.

Ever since he was a child, he took his first steps in photography experimenting with the classic cameras (Kiev, Rollei or Pentax) which were at his grandparents and at his uncle´s home.

He always used black and white film.

As a teenager in the 1980´s, he gave up the hobby until one day at the University of Design he came across some issues of Colors of Benetton and Interview.

Fanzines in big pages where black and white photography had a paramount importance. These big format portraits and fashion photography induced him to restart my hobby, only now with the point of view of a designer.

He feels himself mainly as a portraitist. His preferences are portrait, nude and urban situations.

He likes simple photos which can communicate much with a simple view.

His influences come almost exclusively from the classic photographers. Among his favorites are Henri Cartier-Bresson,

Robert Doisneau, Richard Avedon y Helmut Newton.

Currently, his source of inspiration are photographers with a pronounced work in homogenous series, such as Sebastiao Salgado, Vadim Stein, Thorsten Jankowski, Andreas Bitesnich, Lee Jeffries, Tatsuo Suzuki, Ruslan Lobanov, Martin Schoeller, Pieter Hugo, Marc Hoppe, Peter Coulson.
