\u201cLa trag\u00e8dia escocesa\u201d \u00e9s una s\u00e8rie de fotografies que naix de la col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3 entre el fot\u00f2graf Pau Montes i l\u2018escen\u00f2grafa Lluna Albert amb l’objectiu d’explorar el di\u00e0leg entre diferents medis d’expressi\u00f3 art\u00edstica: el teatre, el disseny de vestuari, la fotografia i la pintura.<\/p>\n

Basada en una lliure interpretaci\u00f3 del Macbeth de Shakespeare, la s\u00e8rie reflecteix les emocions fonamentals de l’obra, en la qual Macbeth i Lady Macbeth, empaitats per l’ambici\u00f3, el seu desig de cr\u00e9ixer, d’arribar m\u00e9s enll\u00e0, vencen els seus escr\u00fapols i duen a terme all\u00f2 que Macbeth t\u00e9 m\u00e9s temor de fer que desig de no fer: assassinar Duncan, el seu rei, per ocupar el seu lloc, per arribar al cim del poder. Per\u00f2 aquest cim se’ls revelar\u00e0 com un enc\u00eds sense rep\u00f2s i amb la ment torturada. Ja en un cam\u00ed sense retorn, el remordiment i l’a\u00efllament en un m\u00f3n dominat pels seus propis fantasmes els portar\u00e0 a sucumbir front a la seua desesperaci\u00f3.<\/p>\n

El vestuari juga en aquesta escenificaci\u00f3 el paper protagonista. El joc de les formes, les textures i el color d\u00f3na vida en cada vestit a un personatge de la hist\u00f2ria, en el qual es transforma l’actor que el porta. Els vestits determinen aix\u00ed el punt de vista de la narraci\u00f3. El llenguatge visual s’inspira de pintors contemporanis a Shakespeare. El tenebrisme de pintors com Caravaggio o Artemisia Gentileschi suggereix els escenaris on es desenvolupa la trag\u00e8dia de Macbeth. Aquesta met\u00e0fora d’una societat que ens empeny sempre a ser m\u00e9s i de com aix\u00f2 ens pot fer perdre tot contacte amb la realitat que vivim. Escrita fa quatre segles, i d’una actualitat esfere\u00efdora.<\/p>\n

Aquest treball forma part del projecte \u201cMacbuth \u00f4 la trag\u00e8dia escocesa\u201d amb la participaci\u00f3 d\u2019Arnau Mar\u00edn qui dirigir\u00e0 l’espectacle hom\u00f2nim el 2014 a Barcelona.<\/p>\n

\u00abThe Scottish Tragedy\u00bb is a series of images born from a collaboration with wardrobe designer Lluna Albert whose purpose is to explore the dialogue between different artistic media: theater, wardrobe design, photography and painting.<\/p>\n

Loosely based on Shakespeare’s Macbeth, this work evokes the fundamental emotions of the play, in which Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, spurred on by their \u201cvaulting ambition, which o\u2019erleaps itself\u201d, overcome their qualms and carry out that which Macbeth rather fears to do than wishes to remain undone: murder Duncan, their King, to seize the throne and reach the summit of power. But that summit will reveal itself as a place of restless anxiety where, tortured by their own ghosts, and, on a path of no return, remorse and isolation will lead them to despair and perish. Written four centuries ago, this allegory of a society that is always pushing us to get further and the loss of contact with reality that this entails still has deep resonance today.<\/p>\n

Wardrobe plays the leading role in this mise en sc\u00e8ne. In each of the pieces, the singular interaction of forms, textures and color brings life to a particular character of the play, into which the actor is transformed when in costume. The costumes thus determine the point of view from which the story is told. The visual language is inspired by painters contemporary to Shakespeare. The dramatic illumination characteristic of painters such as Caravaggio and Artemisia Gentileschi suggests the scenes where the tragedy of Macbeth takes place.<\/p>\n
