FUPETE (Italia, 1975)
\nFupete es un artista, ilustrador y live drawing performer. \u201c\u00a1Ma\u00f1ana puede ser otra cosa!\u201d \u2013 escribi\u00f3 el curador David Quiles Guill\u00f2 acerca de \u00e9l.
\nFupete act\u00faa como uno, pero detr\u00e1s son marido y mujer que comparten la vida, el trabajo y los descubrimientos desde hace diez a\u00f1os. Naci\u00f3 y se cri\u00f3 en Italia entre la costa mediterr\u00e1nea y la campi\u00f1a de la Toscana, donde, cuando no est\u00e1 viajando, en la actualidad vive, trabaja y hace caminatas en los bosques cerca de Pisa.
\nHa expuesto y hecho performances alrededor del mundo: recientemente en el Museo de Arte Moderno de la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico para el Festival Drawing(a)live con la curadoria de Erika Gabbani y en el Museo MIS de Imagen y Sonido de Sao Paulo para NOVA Festival con la curadoria de David Quiles Guill\u00f2.
\nEn el Festival Drawing(a)live ha tocado en vivo, dibujando con la luz y el Tagtool, en los conciertos de los Twin Tones en el CCE Centro Cultural de Espa\u00f1a en M\u00e9xico y en el Museo del Ferrocarril Mexicano del Sur en Oaxaca, M\u00e9xico.
\nSu obra da una sensaci\u00f3n de libertad total, \u00e1spera, expresiva, a menudo fuera de control, a todo color, se complementa con un uso magistral del espacio en blanco como en monocromo. Inspirado por el arte primordial, la psicodelia, sci-fi, comedia de humor negro, el punk, el free jazz, las megal\u00f3polis, las migraciones, la pirater\u00eda, la muerte, … su trabajo tiene con frecuencia una superficie accesible y desafiante que esconde significados m\u00e1s profundos. Pinturas en capas y cruda, dibujos sencillos, ilustraciones ingenuas, murales estructurados, instalaciones meticulosas y actuaciones psicod\u00e9licas de dibujo digital en vivo son diferentes caras de un cuerpo \u00fanico de trabajo, a menudo oscuro y travieso, pero siempre lleno de colores, iron\u00eda y esperanza.
\nHa creado im\u00e1genes para marcas internacionales como J&B y Smart, y probono para importantes proyectos culturales y sociales, recientemente \u201cNuclear Atlas\u201d, \u201cEl PCI en la historia de Italia\u201d y para el \u201cLibro por la Paz en Darfur\u201d de Amnist\u00eda Internacional M\u00e9xico.

Visual spells worth a soul. \u2014 Two Triangles is the continue of the work presented at Vertigo Gallery in Mexico City last September 2012 with the exhibition \u201cMatad Caballo Amarillo\u201d (trans. Kill the Yellow Horse). Two Triangles is two workshops on drawing the Feb 4 and 5. Two Triangles is part of the exhibition project \u201cBEYOND THE LINE\u201d by Mitte Barcelona that opens the same day Feb 6: \u201cFreedom of the lines. Moving, evolving, changing,\u2026 Unlimited, unchained,unframed. FUPETE (Italia, 1975)
\nFupete is an artist, illustrator and live drawing performer. He has exhibited and performed in galleries, museums, venues and festivals around the world: recently at the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City for Drawing(a)live and at the MIS Museum Of Image and Sound in Sao Paulo for NOVA Festival.
\nIn his work a feeling of total freedom, rough, expressive, often out of control, in full color, is complemented with a masterly use of blank space and monochrome. Inspired by primordial art, psychedelia, sci-fi, black comedy, punk, free jazz, megacities, migrations, piracy, death his work has often a challenging and accessible surface that hides deeper meanings.
\nThe artist\u2019s distinct subject matter and contents are shown through a multi-faceted approach to art making: layered and raw paintings, straightforward drawings, naive illustrations, structured murals, meticulous installations and psychedelic performances of live digital drawing are different faces of an unique body of work, often dark and naughty but always full of colors, irony and hope.
\n\u201cI was born in the middle of the fabulous 70s, seven days after the last U.S. troops fleeing from Saigon, six months and Pier Paolo Pasolini was murdered. Fupete is an invention, visual poetry in the interstices, in the cracks. To unravel the tangle I draw green suns and Etruscan soup of my land. And so Joe Strummer is dead. Naked men with hoods do somersaults in the clouds. Doodles, colors, blood and black kittens. Headless dogs while the city-world burns. Black night light my drawings.\u201d
\nFupete acts as a one but behind are husband and wife who are sharing life, work and discoveries since ten years. He has a background of studies in Natural Sciences, Electronic Systems and History of Art at the University of Pisa and at the MLAC Museum of La Sapienza University in Rome.
\nHe was born and raised in Italy between the Mediterranean coast and the countryside of Tuscany, where, when not traveling, he currently lives, works and walks in the woods near Pisa.
