En la muestra, artistas y diseñadores -consagrados o emergentes- invadirán el restaurante-galería en una muestra de calidad, pasión y gran sentido de la estética. El objetivo del colectivo con su primera exposición es dar a conocer y ampliar su red de artistas. Mostrando su trabajo, el proceso creativo y la producción de cada pieza, abren una ventana al público. Para el colectivo Artisan Hub ‘trabajar’ es lo mismo que ‘vivir’.

En esta primera edición, participarán 12 artistas nacionales e internacionales que forman parte de la plataforma: Janaki Larsen (cerámica), Jeanette List Amstrup (cerámica), La Mouchette (vidrio), Lanthane (metal), Marian Bijlenga (textil), MDBA (madera), Migayo (metal), Natalie Macellaio (metal), Noelia Jiménez a.k.a. Noumenow (papel), Paco Orti (cerámica), Sandra Enterline (metal) y Xiral Segard (cerámica).

Korekara Japón, es ya una cita con el arte, la cultura y la artesanía del país asiático durante el mes de Marzo en Barcelona.

“Por muy lejos que estemos, por muchos años que pasen, no nos olvidamos de la zona afectada”: con este lema, este grupo de japoneses residentes en Barcelona ha puesto a punto un intenso programa que incluirá, entre otras cosas, un mercadillo de artesanía nipona; talleres de gastronomía, caligrafía, cerámica, o tiro con arco; conciertos, y actividades relacionadas con la cultura pop de Japón.

Como cada año el objetivo de Korekara Japón es recaudar fondos para contribuir a la revitalización y difusión de la situación en Tohoku, región del noreste de Japón asolada por el devastador terremoto y tsunami de marzo de 2011.

Este año, el objetivo es que el evento sea un escaparate para mostrar la realidad y actualidad de Tohoku a través de material audiovisual, charlas de los responsables de algunos proyectos de apoyo a las áreas afectadas y obras de alumnos de una escuela de arte de Fukushima.

Los beneficios de la venta de obra y actividades que se realicen durante el mes serán donados a organizaciones de ayuda a proyectos en Japón.

Entre todos podemos ayudar a que la realidad sea un poco mejor!

Durante el proceso de un proyecto personal de Felix Roca que consistía en una serie de dibujos de chicas que se arrancan la piel, dejando a cuerpo descubierto un vestido determinado, el tuvo la sensación que, por muchos que hiciera, el resultado era incompleto. En lugar de abandonarlo, pidió a una serie de ilustradores que lo acabaran ellos. Y no sólo esto, sino que fuera destruido; que pintaran encima, lo recortaran, cambiaran el formato, los materiales, etc. La intención no era dar a los artistas una obra para acabar, sino que esta les sirviera como herramienta para *elaborar una obra nuevo». Al entregar el dibujo original, este dejaba de existir y pasaba a formar parte del proceso de otra obra, que recogería más adelante. De este modo, los autores tenían total libertad para perder el respeto por la pieza inicial.

“Pieles» es el resultado de la intervención de nueve artistas, sin ningún discurso común, en los nuevos dibujos que constituían la serie inicial.

The project “Pieles” was born from the desire to lose respect for the work itself and to unite the creativity of various artists, in order to make a common project.

During a process of a personal project of Felix Roca which consists of a series of drawings of girls who are tearing their skin off and leaving their body discovered by a particular dress, he felt that, as much as he did, the result was incomplete. Instead of leaving, he asked a number of illustrators that they would complete the process. And not only this, he asked them to destroy; paint over, cut, change the format, materials, etc. The intention was not to give artists a finished work, but a tool for developing a new product. By submitting the original drawing, this ceased to exist and became part of the process of an another work, which would be collected later. Thus, the authors had full freedom to lose respect for the inicial piece.

“Pieles» is the result of the intervention of new artists, no common discourse, the new drawings constituted the initial series.

¿Qué pasa con todo aquello que no vemos?
No siempre la luz alcanza a alumbrar todo lo que existe. Y sin embargo, lo podemos sentir y percibir. ¿Y no es justamente hacer visible lo invisible la gran misión de la creación artística?

Nos interesa ese espacio oculto, eso que llamamos esencia, aquello invisible a los ojos. Dar apariencia a lo que no se puede ver: las emociones, los miedos, los sueños…

Hoy en día, hay cámaras de vídeo vigilancia, satélites, rayos X, que multiplican las imágenes de lo corpóreo. Como si al hacer más visible este mundo, lo hiciéramos más seguro, más fiable. Al fin, la visibilidad se ha convertido casi en un deber social.
Hagamos pues, a modo de provocación y rebeldía, una pequeña oda a lo que permanece oculto, a los misterios y recovecos de lo que no vemos con la vista.

We human beings perceive our environment from the visual. It is the thing what we really grant as the real. In speaking popular there are multiple expressions which reinforce this idea («Seeing is believing», …)

But …
What about all that we do not see?
The light doesn’t always reach all out there. And yet we can feel and sense. And it’s not just to make the invisible visible, a great mission of artistic creation?

We are interested in this hidden space, what we call an essence, invisible to our eyes. Give appearance to what you can not see: emotions, fears, dreams …

Today, there are CCTV cameras, satellites, X-ray, multiplying the corporeal images. As if making this world more visible, safer, more reliable. Finally, visibility has almost become a social duty.
Let us therefore make it, as a provocation and rebellion, a small ode to what is hidden, to the mysteries and intricacies of what we see through the eye.

Sobre WEART

La segunda edición de WeArt Festival Barcelona, un festival de arte multidisciplinar e independiente, que se celebra una vez al año en Barcelona para dar apoyo y servir como plataforma de difusión para los artistas, así como los espacios que promueven la cultura.Durante el Festival se presentarán exposiciones de cinco disciplinas artísticas: Artes plás- ticas, New Media Art, Ilustración, Street Art y Fotografía, en cinco espacios y cinco días diferentes. Cada disciplina se presentará en un espacio diferente de la ciudad, creando así un recorrido creativo y alternativo por Barcelona. Serán un total de cinco inaugu- raciones en diferentes días, junto con otras actividades paralelas, que enriquecerán el panorama del arte y su relación con el entorno.
WeArt Festival se celebrará durante los meses de octubre y noviembre del 2013. Cada año el festival propone un concepto diferente, sobre el cual girarán las cinco disciplinas artísticas. Este año el tema es SUBVERSIÓN.

The relationship between art and power throughout history might be considered at least as tortuous. One of the functions of art is to be critical and to modernize the society in which it emerges. In those cases in which the artists and the mainstream enjoyed quiet and good cohabitation, we might say (with the risk of being wrong) that the first activity could be described as propaganda rather than as art.
Therefore, one hundred years after Marcel Duchamp reflected on this human activity by raising the question that heads this article, perhaps it is appropriate to ask ourselves: “Is it possible for art to not be subversive?”.
History shows that being an artist necessarily implies risking one’s personal well-being with each new suggestion. Please abstain if you’re unwilling to face this: art needs heroes, not collaborators.

About WEART

The second edition of weart festival barcelona; the independent, multidisciplinary art festival which is held once a year in barcelona to support and serve as a platform for artists and venues that promote culture.During the Festival there will be five exhibitions of different artistic disciplines: Visual Arts, New Media Art, Illustration, Street Art and Photography, spread over five spaces and five separate days. Each discipline is presented in a different area of the city, creating a creative and alternative path around Barcelona. There will also be other parallel activities that enrich the landscape of art and its relationship with the environment.
Weart Festival will be held during the months of October and November 2013. Each year the festival offers a different concept upon which rotate the five artistic disciplines. This year’s theme is SUBVERSION.

En esta muestra podréis ver la disciplina del roller dance a través de fotografía, gráfica, escultura, videos, patines personalizados y montajes con zapatos que jamás habríamos soñado, pero que en otras ciudades existen y se disfrutan de manera religiosa.

BCN Roller Dance, proyecto social, deportivo y cultural creado en Barcelona por Michelle Barrios (Directora de Roll Visual Studio), tiene como objetivo promover el baile en patines local e internacionalmente como deporte, diversión y expresión del alma, a través de contenidos virtuales y eventos relacionados con el patinaje, el baile, el diseño y la música.

Passion for dance, skate, music, design and social media was the main inspiration to create a platform for the exhibition, with the intention of bringing the entire audience to this little world of roller dance, a discipline that combines urban dance with skating in a relaxed and fun way.
In this show you can see the discipline of roller dance through photography, graphics, sculpture, videos, personalized roller skates and assemblies with shoes that we would never have dreamed of, but exits in other cities and enjoy it in a religious way.

La menció en Creació Visual és una especialització del Grau en Disseny generada a EINA per tal de donar continuïtat als estudis d’Art arrelats en la tradició del Centre des dels seus orígens. Respon així mateix a una demanda de formacióa la qual, des de fa temps, estem donant resposta amb èxit a través dels cursos i postgraus d’Il·lustració. La menció està configurada perles sis assignatures optatives de quart cursque es focalitzen en la generació i adequació de la imatge a diferents contextos i a partir de diferents tècniques: Il·lustració, tècniques d’estampació, creació digital, fotografia… D’aquesta manera es pretén dotar de les competències adequades a una tipologia de dissenyadors/artistes que busquen en l’autoria gràfica el seu tret diferencial.

EINA

«Menció in Creació Visual» is a specialization of the Design Degree in EINA created to continue studies of Art which is rooted in tradition of the Center since it’s beginning.
It responds to a demand for a training by which, since time, achieved a successful reply through graduate courses and Illustration.
«Menció» is configured in six optional courses of the fourth year which focuses on the generation and adjustment of the image to different contexts and through different techniques:
Illustration, printing techniques, digital creation, photography…Thus it is intended to provide an adequate typology of designers / artists who seek the differential point on graphic authorship.
