Born in 1975 in Japan, Sosaku Miyazaki lives and works in Tokyo and Barcelona. Heavily influenced by urban life, the creations of Sosaku were initially seen in the streets of Barcelona in 2005.Sosaku plays with the naive art with sarcasm. His work ranges from painting to sculpture, photography, music, video, ready-made, installations and performance.

Una escultura experimental, de gran ligereza. Un caos controlado de formas y color, que muestran una infinidad de posibilidades para navegar por ellas.

Entre sus más recientes participaciones, cabe destacar la intervención a la chimenea industrial de la Fabrica de Creación La Escocesa,  como la realizada en Punta Delgada dentro del Festival de arte público Walk&Talk en Azores.

Raquel G, aka Labuenaylamala is a multidisciplinary artist with a personal language defined by her interest in movement and perception of space. Her work of geometric abstraction, is more representative in her kinetic sculptures that are still evolving for the past 14 years.

An experimental sculpture, very light. A controlled chaos of shapes and color, showing infinite possibilities to navigate within them.

In her recent participations, the intervention of industrial chimney of Fabrica de Creación La Escocesa, as performed at Punta Delgada in Public Art Festival Walk & Talk in Azores stands out.

Joana Santamans Artista. Mirada mágica, salidas ásperas. Estudió Diseño y Arte en la Escuela Eina de Barcelona. Ha vivido en Esparreguera y Londres; Hostalets de Pierola y Nueva York. Pinta sobre soportes que encuentra por la calle y los expone en galerías. Estilo naïf y urbano, fuerte y vulnerable. Es nocturna pero no tiene nada de vampira. Grita y se queda afónica. Clara y práctica. Respira y domina el silencio. Huele la tinta china y anda descalza. Coleccionista y recolectora. Positiva y emprendedora. Tiene pocos secretos. Y entiende la vida a través del arte. «Te Quiero BCN» es una homenaje a Barcelona enfatizando sus detalles emblemáticos que la hace bella y única.

Inspirado por el diseño de la baldosa del Passeig de Gracia de Gaudi, Lapin interpreta los símbolos icónicos de Barcelona.

Lapin quiere a Barcelona y muestra su aprecio a través de sus libros creados para ella y de esta exposición.

Bio

Lapin es un ilustrador francés con sede en Barcelona. Lapin se puede definir como un ilustrador móvil que lleva su cuaderno y sus herramientas de dibujo a la calle, a un bar, al metro, a Estambul, a Barcelona o a Tokio.

Dibujar es para él una manera de grabar cada segundo de su vida y sentirse vivo. Lapin relleno alrededor de 150 cuadernos en los últimos 12 años y valora especialmente dibujar en los libros de contabilidad que encuentra en los mercados de segunda mano.

Lapin ha publicado varios libros como «Barcelona M’inspira», » Te Quiero Barcelona», «Oldies But Goldies», » Lapin a Istanbul», «Lapin a Carcassone» , » Formula One Paddock Club».

Six years ago Lapin moved to the capital of Catalonia, Barcelona. It was a love at first sight. He was fascinated by walking around the city to discover it, feel it and draw it, in other words to live in his way.

«I love BCN» is a tribute to Barcelona emphasizing its iconic details which makes it unique and beautiful.

Inspired by the design of the tiles of Passeig de Gracia by Gaudi, Lapin interprets the iconic symbols of Barcelona.

Lapin loves Barcelona and wants to show his gratitude  through his books and this exhibition.

Lapin is a French illustrator based in Barcelona. Lapin can be defined as a mobile illustrator carrying his sketchbook and drawing tools to the street to a bar, to the subway, to Istanbul, Barcelona or Tokyo.

Drawing is a way to record every second of his life and feel alive. Lapin already filled around 150 sketchbooks for the last 12 years and he particularly appreciates sketching on vintage accounting books that he finds in flea markets.

Lapin has published several books like «M’inspira Barcelona», «I Love Barcelona», «Oldies But Goldies», «Lapin to Istanbul», «Lapin Carcassonne», «Formula One Paddock Club».

Este es mi homenaje a una pequeña selección de artistas que trabajaron en esta ciudad antes que yo.

Since a long time Barcelona has been a city whose poster is SALE  and being exposed without any intention to be removed. Before being  «best boutique of the world » great artists helped with their works to create an important enclave that will remain indelible and inseparable city of the world over Mexican hats, sevillan costumes, cruisers and Qatar .

This is my tribute to a small selection of artists who worked in this city before me.

Chamo San (Barcelona, 1987) graduated from Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, specializing in drawing. He also attended an academic year at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris (ENSBA).

He uses a strongly figurative style combining with graphic elements that deviate from the current hyper. He has exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions.

Currently he also works as an illustrator for brands, agencies and medias such as Nike, Barcelona City Council, Fashion TV, Panenka, Heineken, Nokia, Cinthol, Nomad India, Mini, GQ Italy, TiempoBBDO, Shackleton, etc.. He is a member of the art collective Penique productions.

En primer lugar se susurran la una a la otra sus historias dentro de nuestro Artspace y pop-up window y desde allí gritan en voz alta todos los colores de sus mundos de fantasia.
El trabajo de Taratiel está dominado por los paisajes mentales y abstractos, coloridos que viven en el espacio imaginario. Utilizando una amplia gama de materiales como la madera, el cartón, y la pintura crea collages e instalaciones que provocan una confusión visual intrigante entre las dos y tres dimensiones del espacio.
El trabajo de Anna no trata de abstracciones, sino de la creación de estructuras y capas en un mundo de fantasía que es casi táctil. comes the christmas again and we will celebrate it by sharing all the love it brings.

«She shouts in Colors” is an exhibition by Anna Taratiel and Guilia Laura a.k.a Maoma.
They first whisper to each other their stories within our Artspace & Pop-up window and from there they shout out loud all the colors of their intersecting fantasy worlds.

Taratiel’s work is dominated by colourful and abstract mental landscapes that live in the imaginary space. Using a wide range of simple materials like wood, cardboard, threat and painting she creates collages and installations that provoke an intriguing visual confusión between the two and three dimensions of space.
Anna’s work is not about abstractions but about the creation of structures and layers in a fantasy world that’s almost tactile.

Yvette Hawkins is a visual artist, arts project manager and travelling curator.
Yvette makes tactile, engaging and textural sculptures and installations that explore suggestion and secrecy. Her work is concerned with the physical acts of looking, reading and listening encouraging viewers to consciously be aware of their surroundings, controlling and manipulating the way things can be seen, read and heard.

Brosmind es un estudio de Barcelona fundado por los hermanos Mingarro en 2006. Su estilo es fresco y optimista, y siempre combinan la fantasía y el humor.
Sus ilustraciones han cosechado los más prestigiosos premios nacionales e internacionales, como Cannes Lions, Clio, Eurobest, Graphis, Sol, CdeC, Laus… y han trabajado para clientes como Nike, Microsoft, Honda, LandRover, Volkswagen, Virgin, Gillette o Kidrobot.

«What’s Inside?» by Brosmind is a detailed journey through the visual universe of Mingarro brothers. Using illustration, sculpture, photography and installation, a collection of particular characters opening up before us to show their rich interior.

Brosmind is a studio based in Barcelona founded by Mingarro brothers in 2006. Their style is fresh and optimistic and always a combination of fantasy and humor.

Their illustrations have been awarded by the most prestigious national and international awards, including Cannes Lions, Clio, Eurobest, Graphis, Sol, CoC, Laus … and they worked for clients such as Nike, Microsoft, Honda, LandRover, Volkswagen, Virgin, Gillette or Kidrobot.

Jonathan Dalton actualmente reside entre Australia e Irlanda, desarrollando con éxito su carrera artística en ambos sitios.
Ha recibido prestigiosos premios de la Royal Hibernian Academy y de la Royal Ulster Academy, dos de las instituciones artísticas más importantes de Irlanda. Ha vivido y trabajado en San Francisco, Barcelona, Londres y Granada.
Estudió filosofía en el University College de Dublín graduándose en 1999.

«Empirical Ambiguities» is a collection of work painted during the artist’s time in Barcelona from 2010-2012. These are paintings about moments; moments of contained drama, moments of change, moments of regret. These are paintings about subtle, nuanced and complex interactions. These are paintings of careful observation.
The artist demonstrates an astute awareness of what will engage the viewer. The surreal often sits hand in hand with the mundane, the colour and tone is frequently dramatic, the content often troubling.
This collection of paintings seems almost a journey, but one where the artist is unwilling or unable to explain the destination. The artist serves almost as a spotlight, illuminating moments of observed uncertainty, moments, that is, of empirical ambiguity.

Jonathan Dalton now lives between Australia and Ireland, maintaining a successful art practice in both places.
He has received prestigious awards from the Royal Hibernian Academy and the Royal Ulster Academy, two of the most important art institutions in Ireland. He has lived and worked in San Francisco, London and Granada.
He studied philosophy at University College Dublin graduating in 1999.

Yoko Furusho es un artista japonesa / ilustradora con sede en Nueva York. Nació en Tokio y se trasladó a Nueva York para estudiar ilustración en la Escuela de Artes Visuales. Después de su graduación en 2008, comenzó a su carrera como profesional ilustradora / artista. Le gusta dibujar detalles, texturas y patrones con tinta y acrílicos, y con frecuencia utiliza la moda como fuente de su inspiración. Ha expuesto su obra en China, USA, Australia, Japón, etc.

«Before you find me, I hide in somewhere you don’t see»
For this exhibition, the gallery space will become the imaginary world where people can escape from the real life. Furusho will fill the space with many characters, weird animals, mushrooms and monsters in a single color-monochrome drawings. Each of Furusho’s pieces represent a chapter in a story constructed from her vivid imagination, which blends the boundary between real and imaginary.

Yoko Furusho is a Japanese artist/illustrator based in New York. She was born in Tokyo and moved to New York to study illustration at the School of Visual Arts. After her graduation in 2008, she started her career as a professional illustrator/artist. She likes to draw details, textures and patterns with ink and acrylics, and often uses fashion as her inspiration. Her work has also been shown at several other shows around the world.
